PICK UP SUPPLIES
- Sign out watercolor painting supplies from school today if you can! You will need them on April 14th. As of right now, the school is only open on Mondays from 11am-12:30pm. However, I found out it will be open on Tuesday April 14th because it is closed on Monday April 13th for Spring Break. (Spring break will most likely be shortened this year and will be 4/10-13. We would finish school on May 22nd)
- You will receive a watercolor paint set, 3 brushes, and 3 pieces of 9"x12" heavy watercolor paper. Two pieces of the paper will be used for two projects and one piece will be used for practice on both sides.
- Upload an image (or images if your drawings are not all on one piece of paper) of your Random Objects From Direct Observation Drawing Assignment to Artsonia along with a title and artist statement. The artist statement questions are on the Artist Statement page when uploading. You only need to answer the artist statement questions once for those of you who have to upload more than one image. Try to crop out empty negative space and make sure there is good lighting. I recommend taking the photo(s) outside if you can. If you need help uploading your drawing to Artsonia click HERE for the directions and school access code.
- Take photo(s) or type out and email to me any of the three Blizzard Bag assignments that have not already been emailed to me to turn them in. Be sure the photos are clear so I can read your answers. Be sure to put your name in the subject line of the email(s) if you are not logged into your school email account. Directions for how to email photos with an iPhone are HERE. Directions for an Android phone are HERE

- Based on the article and video from April 9th, draw or divide the front only of one piece of watercolor paper into six areas. - Wet on Dry
- Wet on Wet
- Dry Brush
- Graded Wash
- Glazing (using at least four different colors that overlap and I can still see separately, see example below)
- One additional technique- Pick any other painting technique from the article or video from April 9th (Variegated Wash is shown in the example below)
- Don't throw this watercolor paper away. You will actually be using the back side for a practice painting for your next project.
